Vision

Heirlock is a thrice-yearly digital magazine that publishes primarily poetry, as well as visual art and short fiction. We are dedicated to giving new writers a chance, and feature work from all over the world. The name Heirlock comes from this focus – we hope to publish the future of poetry and to be a buffer zone between the individual starting poet and the ever-expanding universe that is the writing community at large.

Heirlock accepts and appreciates contributors of all identities, backgrounds, and practices.  We encourage diverse and independent thought and the value of unique perspectives, and seek to represent that in the variety of pieces that it publishes.

Notwithstanding this devotion to diversity and free thought, Heirlock will not support or tolerate any form of bigotry or extremism in its contributors or work promoting such things.

The enforcement of these ideals and goals will be manifest in the publication process; Heirlock will not, except in extreme cases, look into specific individuals, groups, social media profiles, or past publications when considering submissions.
